SCHOOL of NURSING The academic year 2022/23 entry Application requirements

1.Critical care Nurse practitioner (nursing residency type)

An applicant for admission to Critical care Nursing Master’s program must fulfill the following requirements

Bachelors’ degree in nursing or health officer and aesthesia with nursing background from an accredited institution
of higher learning
A candidate should have a minimum of two years experience with BSC degree in clinical or academic activities with written evidence Satisfactorily pass the written and oral entrance examination administered by the hosting department
A candidate should have a CGPA of 2.75 male and above 2,5 for Female The graduate study applicant must produce a minimum of two letters of recommendation from undergraduate instructors, employers or professional associates.
Provide medical certificate showing physically and mentally for training in Critical care nursing residency.
Should bring a letter of sponsorship from government hosting institute or self-sponsor applicants should enter a commitment to pay the cost of the training. Self-sponsors students will pay 900 birrs per credit hour and should cover research-associated expenses.

2.Parademic science (click here)

An applicant for admission to MSC paramedic program must fulfill the following requirments

The candidate should have bachelor degree in Nursing /Midwifery/Anesthesia/Health officer/ paramedic from a recognized institution
A candidate should have a CGPA of 2.75 and 2.5 above for female
The graduate study applicant must produce a minimum of two letters of recommendation from undergraduate instructors, employers or professional associates.
Provide medical certificate showing physically and mentally for training in Critical care nursing residency.

3.Respiratory care practitioner

An applicant for admission to MSC respiratory care practitioner program must fulfill the following requirements

4.Cardiothoracic Surgery Nursing Admission Requirement

To be eligible for admission into the Masters of Science in Cardiothoracic Surgery Nursing program the candidate should fulfill the following criteria:

Have graduated from an accredited college/school of nursing with BSC in Operating theatre nursing

Nurses who have BSC and have worked in Operating theatre at least for six months to two years or academic activities with written evidence
Satisfactorily pass the written and oral entrance examination administered by the hosting department
A candidate should have a CGPA of 2.75 male and above 2.5 for Female
The graduate study applicant must produce a minimum of two letters of recommendation from undergraduate instructors, employers or professional associates.

5.Msc Cardiovascular Nursing

Candidates must be holders of first degree in baccalaureate degree (BSc.) in nursing fields, have an experience of Working in Adult ICU OR cardiac center or Nursing clinical experience or academic activities with written evidence at least from Six month to two years
Satisfactorily pass the written and oral entrance examination administered by the hosting department
A candidate should have a CGPA of 2.75 male and above 2.5 for Female
The graduate study applicant must produce a minimum of two letters of recommendation from undergraduate instructors, employers or professional associates.

6. Master of Science in neonatal nursing ( Residence type )

Candidates must be holders of first degree in baccalaureate degree (BSc.) in nursing, neonatal nursing, pediatric nursing or midwifery (if NICU experience of at least 2 years) with written evidence at least from Six month to two years of experience in NICU.
Satisfactorily pass the written and oral entrance examination administered by the hosting department
A candidate should have a CGPA of 2.75 male and above 2.5 for Female

7.Master of Science in Clinical Oncology Nursing(Residence type)

-Candidates must be holders of first degree in baccalaureate degree (BSc.) in nursing field from recognized health institutions, (comprehensive BSC nursing, post basic oncology nursing, post basic emergency and critical care nursing, pediatrics and or child health nursing, other nursing specialties with at least one-year work experience in hospice centers, cancer palliative care areas and other governmental or non-governmental health institutions providing oncology care services.

Have at least one years of work experience in clinical setting for candidates from hospitals and at least one year teaching experience in higher education institutions, for candidates from higher education institutions.

A candidate should have a CGPA of 2.75 male and above 2.5 for Female
Provide medical certificate showing physically and mentally fitness for training in neonatal nursing residency.
